What to Expect During Your Visit
Welcoming Worship
Upon entering the church you will be greeted by one of our friendly hospitality folks, called Ushers.
You will also be given a program (booklet) that outlines the order of service with songs and readings to help you follow along.
You will find our church to be reverent, orderly, and modest in its worship style with an organist and choir leading the congregation in song.
Communion and Fellowship
After the message has been preached, which normally lasts for 30 to 40 minutes, we generally take communion optional but open to everyone. Communion is the eating of a small wafer and drinking of a sip of wine which is an instruction Jesus gave to His disciples to remember His sacrificed body and blood that was shed on the cross to take away our sin.
The service concludes with a song and a prayer and everyone is then invited to meet together as a congregation and join leadership in the Fellowship Hall for refreshments.
Common Questions & Answers
Is there parking available?
Yes. There is parking at the back as well as the side of the church. Handicap parking is available in the front. Additional parking is just a few steps next door at the grocery store.
Which church entrance should I use?
We have two entrances at the front of the building facing Markham Rd. Our accessibility entrance is to the left of the main entrance which is in the center with the double doors.
How far in advance should I arrive?
Try to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before service starts so you can find parking and a seat with minimal interruption to the order of service. Arriving a few minutes early will also give you an opportunity to observe and meet a few of our friendly people.
What will people be wearing?
There isn't a particular dress code. You will find people wearing jeans, blouses, dresses, pullovers, buttoned shirts, dress pants, polo shirts, etc. The general rule is to wear something that allows you and others to focus on Jesus. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. No one will judge you by your attire.
Is the space accessible if I have a physical disability?
Yes. We have an elevator to access the sanctuary and a lift chair to move to the fellowship hall. If you require assistance when arriving, please call ahead so our hospitality team can meet you at the front door. (416-261-4169)
Is it okay to bring my kids?
Absolutely! Christ Church has special programming for children of all ages. We also have a nursery for babies and toddlers. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14)
