Making an Impact & Fostering Unity

Our Community Service programs at Christ Church Scarborough Village aim to make a positive impact and foster a sense of unity within our local community. With a range of meaningful initiatives, we strive to address the needs of those around us, promoting compassion, kindness, and support for all. From volunteering opportunities to charitable events, we are dedicated to creating a space where individuals can come together to make a difference. Join us as we work towards building a stronger, more inclusive community through our various service programs.

Deacon’s Cupboard Food Bank

For over 20 years, Christ Church has hosted its Deacon’s Cupboard Food Bank. As we currently see over 200 families, representing more than 600 individuals, each week, there is ample opportunity to volunteer on Wednesday mornings between about 8.00 and 10.30 when we receive the deliveries of food from FeedScarborough, the local hub of Daily Bread Food Bank, and other organizations which support us in this way. The food is unboxed, counted and laid out on the tables; bulk foods are repackaged and bread is repacked. Vegetables are sorted and bagged.

Woolly Tree

Christ Church Scarborough Village is proud to offer a Christmas outreach programme that aims to bring warmth and joy to those in need. Our programme provides hats, scarves, mittens, and other winter necessities, ensuring that needy families in our community can face the Canadian winter cosily.
